Opening Times

The gardens are open daily throughout the summer season (last day Sunday 1st October). The gates open at 10.30am until 5pm, with last entry at 4pm. We recommend you allocate at least two hours to explore the gardens as there is a lot to see. There are also picturesque river walks, which take 30-60 minutes to complete, and offer wonderful views of the Castle and countryside. To read more about the gardens, visit our Gardens page.

Visiting the Castle gives you the chance to see some of the historic rooms and learn about the history of the estate. An overview of the Castle’s history can be found on our Castle page.

The Castle is only accessible for Guided Tours. Guided Tours are available on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays with the exception of Tuesday 25th July when the castle is closed for a private function.

The Castle can be visited by booking one of the Guided Tours at our Visitor Centre upon entry. Castle Tours run at the following times: 11:30pm, 12:30pm, 2pm and 3pm.
