Take a break

Light Lunches, Cakes and Cream Teas

The Orangery Cafe serves delicious food and drinks, with many of the ingredients picked fresh from our Kitchen Garden and sourced from local producers and suppliers. Our cakes are homemade and the scones are often hot from the oven. On event days and other occasions, seasonal specials are on offer.

The Orangery Cafe has both inside and outdoor seating. It can only be reached by going through the gardens and is therefore only accessible by those who have paid for garden entrance.

The Orangery

The Orangery Cafe was designed as a conservatory by Joseph Paxton in 1845, six years before he went on to design Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition. Opening directly onto the South Lawns, it provides an idyllic setting for a spot of lunch or cream tea.

A wonderful stretch of garden  |  Charlie, Google Reviews Acres of natural beauty, play park, field, nooks and crannys which, personally, are ageless as I loved venturing through the maze, discovering the secret tunnel... can you find it too? The cafe was lovely, fairly priced and definitely recommended.
